hi and thanks for any help...
i have a breckwell p28i pellet stove and i'm having trouble with the auger motor... motor/auger stopped turning after making some noise, pulled insert out and shot a little 3&1 20 wt on to motor and started working again...unit is 10 years old and i have had NO trouble out of it except this. i'm looking for conformation that it sounds like the auger motor and some help on how to remove the motor from the stove... all i can see holding this in seems to be a collar with a allen screw and a bolt through the auger tube and what looks like a carrier bushing...i don't want to destroy my heater as it is the only heat source i use in the winter as my electric bills on budget plan are at 390.00 and it's killing me...HELP... thanks robert

The noise you are hearing can be two things, 1, sawdust from pellets building up in the bottom of the hopper and causing a deep squeak and some times causing the auger shaft to stop turning. 2, Or it is possible that you may have a broken gear in the gear box of the auger motor if this is the case you are hearing the broken gear tooth and when the cycle comes to that tooth it can stop the feed of the pellets..there are several gears in each gear box. I would suggest removing the auger motor from the auger shaft and laying it down on the back base of the stove with the two wires to the motor still attached now start the stove and see if the auger works or is making noise...clean out the hopper and vac. out the bottom of the hopper. Reverse process to reinstal.
