Two things that will sound like a whistle. 1. one of the fans exhaust or room air may need to be cleaned and one drop of high heat electric motor oil added to each port (2 PORTS) leading to the shaft in the motor, you may need to remove the motor to clean and oil add oil to the motor every other year. Another whistle can be caused by wind traveling by a sharp objest such as the end of the heat exchanger tubes cover the best way to find this is to take a long handled screw driver and put the metal end on the objest you believe is making the noise and putting your ear on the other end..search areas until you find the whistle then use a flat metal file to clean the area that is causing the problem it may be a metal burr or just a sharp edge...SAFETY FIRST Be sure NOT TO TOUCH ANY ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS with the screw driver.
Hey Andy I just found the source of my "whistle" on my Eagle v-150 model. There is a pre drilled hole on the front of the stove just to the left of the door. (lower left hand side)
I just bought this stove off of you folks this summer, is there something I am missing? what is the pre drilled hole for?
The hole is for a vacuum guage test I have seen these whistle before...go ahead and use a small screw to plug the hole. Give me a call at your leisure 1-888-340-7727 I would like to talk to you about air to fuel adjustments and how the stove is operating for you. Have a good day.
Hey Andy, sorry I have not got back to you I will give you a call sometime today. I have noticed one more thing about the stove. I have sparks coming out of the exhaust pipe all the time, no matter where I set the damper, the more open the damper the more sparks. They coincide with pellets falling into burn pot.
