I have a Vistaflame VF 100 that has been giving me trouble saying running lately. It starts fine when the convection blower is supposed to come on, sometimes it does and it runs fine for hours or days. other times when the convection blower does not come on it will run for about a half hour when it shuts down. This becomes a cycle that requires the restarting of the stove several times before it runs on its own. Sometimes when the stove has been running fine for hours or days, it will shut down as a result from the auger stoping its feeding. When this happens it always becomes a problem restarting. I have had it serviced they replaced the 160 degree convection blower switch and the vacuum switch this didn't help at all.

Hello Rick
Three things that I would do to troubleshoot the problem. First if the stove is operated by a thermostat change it to manual operation. (1) Clean all connections from control board to fan (2) Replace convection blower 160 sensor or by pass this sensor with a jumper wire (do not leave it this way this is a test only) (3) Remove convection fan clean with compressed air add one drop of high heat oil to (2) oil ports and hook up fan direct to a 115v line and run for a period of time if it keeps running past the time it normally shut down then re-install fan to see it works properly if it still shuts down then you have a pc board problem. If you have a older model then it would be a fan controler.

One more note on your problem: You said the stove stopped feeding pellets, this would be caused by a restriction some where in the stove or the flue so these would need to be cleaned or it's possible you have a vaccum switch going bad or just a bad connection try by passing the vaccum switch and making sure the red vac. hose is clean and the barbed connections are clean...again if it's hooked up to a thermostat set it back to maunal operation while troubleshhooting.
